Actors Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor are expected to reprise their roles of Uday Shankar Shetty and Majnu Bhai respectively from the prequel. Due to the passing away of Feroz Khan, Amitabh Bachchan was cast as a replacement. John Abraham was next signed on for the lead role, thus replacing actor Akshay Kumar from the prequel. Katrina Kaif, who played the female lead in the prequel was also replaced by Sonakshi Sinha however she soon dropped out citing date issues.

Following Sinha's exit from the film, Asin was selected to play the female lead, but due to date clashes with All is Well, she opted out and was replaced by Shruti Haasan. A debutante Sakshi Maggo from Delhi was given a role in the film.
